About Me

I’m Chris !  I am originally from Grand Rapids, and currently reside in the windy city of Chicago. I’m an inquisitive empath and an imaginative thinker -  I am constantly curious how the mind works and what motivates us as human beings, but also mesmerized by world of design; colors, lines, patterns, textures, architecture, film, photography - you name it.  And while yes it’s true that I might have been  a pretty good therapist due to my empathetic nature or maybe I was Michelangelo in a past life because of how creative I am, these two paths have led me to discover my passion for UI/UX Design. 

 

Professionally, I have worked for companies  over the past 10 years  whose bottom line is a direct result of the quality of their user’s experience.  From small neighborhood businesses to global powerhouses in 90+ countries, the one thing that I have seen first-hand is how design, whether it be fabulous, so-so, or just downright terrible,  can radically transform a users experience, and enhance, weaken, or detract from a business's success.   

 

As a UI/UX designer, my process begins with understanding the problem, user and market research, and rounds of user testing on ideations  to create intuitive experiences with aesthetically pleasing and simple designs.
